Try Classic One — A try-on and fit-check procedure | tryclassicone.com
Classic straight jeans pass when the waist holds without a belt, the leg opening measures 18-21 cm and the hem breaks exactly once at the shoe.
A classic straight cut pairs a 30-32 in waist with an 18-21 cm (7-8 in) leg opening. Test the waistband first: it should stay up when you walk and sit without a belt, with no gap standing away at the back. A waist that gaps is the wrong size, and a tailor touching the waist is a sign you picked it.
The leg opening controls the silhouette below the knee. At 18-21 cm the fabric falls straight and lands on the shoe in a single break — one fold of 1-2 cm. Watch for the two failures: pooling, where several folds stack up, and no break, where the hem floats above the shoe entirely.
On narrow screens, swipe or scroll the plate sideways.
Inseams come in 1 in (2.5 cm) steps, so choose the step that gives you one break and let a tailor fine-tune it — a hem can move up or down 2-5 cm without touching the waist. Never size the waist up or down to fix a length problem; length is the cheap alteration, waist is not.
Raw denim rewrites the numbers after purchase. It shrinks 3-5% in length on the first hot wash, and unsanforized selvedge can shrink up to 10%. On an 81 cm inseam, expect to lose roughly 2.5-4 cm — up to 8 cm for unsanforized cloth — so take the longer step and wash before hemming.
The break only reads correctly over the shoe you will actually wear, so run this check together with the shoe try-on and sizing rules. For the upper half of the outfit, the dress shirt try-on page covers collar, chest, sleeve and cuff line.
